  Ybor City streets near Centennial Park close Friday evening for Richard's Run for Life 5K

  The City of Tampa says streets around Centennial Park in Ybor City will close from about 3 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, for Richard's Run for Life, with the 5K route on Palm Avenue and Nuccio Parkway closed from about 5 to 8 p.m.

  Hillsborough voters approve a nine-member County Commission elected only by district

  Unofficial results show Hillsborough County voters approved Referendum 2, growing the County Commission from seven to nine members, all elected from single-member districts. Harry Cohen, Gwen Myers, Neil Manimala and Aileen Rodriguez won the four commission races.

  Tampa Riverwalk's holiday season opens with light cruises Nov. 20 and a tree lighting Nov. 29

  Holiday programming on the Tampa Riverwalk starts Nov. 20 with River of Lights cruises from Curtis Hixon Park, followed by the Holiday Spectacular light displays from Nov. 27 to Jan. 3 and the sixth annual tree lighting at the Tampa Convention Center on Sunday, Nov. 29, according to the Friends of the Riverwalk event pages.
