Ybor City streets near Centennial Park close Friday evening for Richard's Run for Life 5K
Route closures on Palm Avenue and Nuccio Parkway run from about 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 6.
TAMPA - Drivers heading into Ybor City on Friday evening, Nov. 6, should expect street closures for Richard's Run for Life, a 5K run and one-block walk at Centennial Park, according to a City of Tampa traffic advisory.
Closures around Centennial Park are set to begin around 3 p.m. and last until about 10:30 p.m. Streets along the race route are expected to close around 5 p.m. and reopen around 8 p.m. The 5K starts and finishes at the park and runs along Palm Avenue and Nuccio Parkway.
The event opens at 6 p.m. in the park, and the 5K starts at 7 p.m. The city says the event supports cancer care and services for adolescents and young adults.
The city also flagged other downtown events the same day: Port Tampa Bayslam at the Tampa Convention Center at 8 a.m., a Hamilton performance at the Straz Center at 7:30 p.m. and a Tampa Theatre show at 8 p.m. It suggested the free TECO Line Streetcar, DASH, HART buses, scooters or bikes as alternatives. The city's road closures page says current closure updates have moved to one.network.
