Boise State to remove Quad fencing for winter as Science Research Building site work nears
Testing and staging at the Euclid, Belmont and Grant site start in late December; Belmont will see restrictions near Leatherman Peak.
BOISE - Boise State University will take down all fencing on the Quad in the coming weeks as steam tunnel replacement pauses for winter, according to a Nov. 3 campus operations update. The project's third and final phase resumes in spring 2027 and is set to finish in November 2027.
Geotechnical testing, utility locating and staging begin in late December at the Science Research Building site bounded by Euclid, Belmont and Grant avenues. Nearby drivers and pedestrians may see brief lane or walkway shifts, noise and truck traffic. Groundbreaking is planned for spring 2027 and opening for fall 2029; the site plan went to the City of Boise in September, the university said.
Interior work at the Leatherman Peak Building runs from early December through fall 2027, with fencing and temporary sidewalk and road restrictions on Belmont between Euclid and Manitou. In the Education Building, elevator work continues through May 2027 and HVAC work may temporarily move some classes and offices.
