Tampa General adds GE HealthCare imaging system to a hybrid operating room
It is the second Allia Moveo system in the Tampa Medical & Research District, after one at USF Health's simulation center.
TAMPA - Tampa General Hospital has installed GE HealthCare's Allia Moveo image-guided therapy system in a clinical hybrid operating room at the hospital, TGH announced Nov. 4.
It is the second Allia Moveo in the Tampa Medical & Research District, according to the hospital. Earlier this year, USF Health's Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation, known as CAMLS, added one to its training programs; the release says CAMLS was the first simulation center in the world to do so. TGH says the new installation links simulation-based training with patient care.
TGH describes the system as built to support minimally invasive procedures. According to the release, it has a slim, cable-free C-arm meant to give clinicians easier access to the patient, a wide-bore design that supports cone-beam CT imaging, and AI-powered workflow tools.
"Bringing this technology to Tampa General Hospital builds on that foundation," said John Couris, president and CEO of Florida Health Sciences Center | Tampa General.
The release does not give the system's cost, when it began treating patients or which procedures it will be used for.
