Tampa General again named to Newsweek's list of world's best smart hospitals
The 2027 list includes 410 hospitals in 33 countries; TGH says eight are in Florida.
TAMPA - Tampa General Hospital has again been named to Newsweek and Statista's World's Best Smart Hospitals list, this time for 2027, according to an Oct. 22 hospital press release. The list recognizes 410 hospitals in 33 countries, and TGH says it is one of eight Florida hospitals included. The release does not give TGH's rank on the list.
The ranking draws on a survey of health care professionals, a digital maturity survey and digital health accreditations, the release says. TGH pointed to its Care Coordination Center, built with Palantir Technologies, which combines health record data and predictive analytics. The hospital says the center's sepsis program has helped save more than 1,000 lives since 2022.
Innovation is most powerful when it strengthens the human side of healthcare. — John Couris, president and CEO, Florida Health Sciences Center | Tampa General
The release also credits AI note-taking tools with cutting physician documentation time by 24%, a figure that comes from the hospital.
