Tampa General ranks No. 3 in Florida on Newsweek's 2027 best-in-state hospitals list
The hospital says it is first on Florida's west coast and first in Tampa Bay for the fourth straight year.
TAMPA - Tampa General Hospital ranks No. 3 in Florida and No. 1 on Florida's west coast in Newsweek's 2027 America's Best-in-State Hospitals ranking, the hospital said in a Nov. 2 release.
TGH says it has been the highest-ranked hospital in the Tampa Bay region for the fourth year in a row, every year since the ranking began, and has placed among Florida's top three hospitals each year.
Newsweek produces the list with Statista, a statistics and rankings company. According to TGH's release, hospitals in every state were eligible and were scored on four sources: hospital quality metrics, reputation, patient experience and a Statista survey on how hospitals use patient-reported outcome measures. The 800 top-scoring hospitals were listed and ranked within their own states.
"This recognition belongs to everyone at TGH," said John Couris, president and CEO of Florida Health Sciences Center | Tampa General, in the release.
Newsweek's full Florida ranking and methodology are posted on its site. The list is separate from Newsweek's World's Best Smart Hospitals ranking.
