Veterans Day 2026, Part 3 of 3: Resources
OMAHA - Nebraska veterans and their families can find state and nonprofit help in one place on the Department of Health and Human Services' Military Families and Veterans page, the department says.
The list includes the Veterans Crisis Line, the Nebraska Department of Veterans' Affairs and its benefits and veterans homes, VetSet, NAMI Homefront for families, Lutheran Family Services' confidential veterans counseling regardless of ability to pay, and career help through the NDVA Gateway.
Nebraska's veterans treatment courts use trained volunteer Veteran Mentors to guide participants through readjustment to civilian life, according to the Nebraska Judicial Branch. The Douglas County Veterans Treatment Court can be reached at (402) 889-2643.
Anyone in crisis can call, text or chat 988, free and confidential, 24 hours a day, according to DHHS.
