Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging offers respite for family caregivers
National Family Caregivers Month: where Omaha-area caregivers can find a break
OMAHA - Family caregivers in the Omaha area can get a break through the Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging's Caregiver Support Program, which arranges respite such as in-home help or adult day services, according to ENOA. November is National Family Caregivers Month, led by Caregiver Action Network, whose 2026 theme is “Care Connects Us.”
About 200,000 Nebraskans provide care for aging parents, spouses or other loved ones, ENOA says. The program serves caregivers 18 and older looking after someone 60 or older who needs help with at least two daily activities, or who has Alzheimer's disease or another dementia. Case managers also offer support and education. Call 402-444-6536 and ask for Information and Assistance.
Flaherty Senior Consulting's caregiver Solutions Groups, led by Nancy Flaherty, meet Nov. 10 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 14330 Eagle Run Dr., and Nov. 28 at Faith Westwood United Methodist Church, 4814 Oaks Ln., according to ENOA's November New Horizons. Times are not listed; call 402-312-9324.
Respite Across the Lifespan helps caregivers find respite services: 402-559-5732, New Horizons says.
