Girls from area schools explore manufacturing careers at MCC event, Lozier says
OMAHA - Girls and educators from area middle and high schools heard from women working in manufacturing at the Women in Manufacturing Nebraska Lunch and Learn on Oct. 28, according to Omaha-based Lozier, which sponsored the event.
The event was held at Metropolitan Community College's Center for Advanced Manufacturing, Lozier said in an Oct. 29 news post. The company said this was its fifth year helping put on the event as part of its celebration of manufacturing month.
Lozier named Westview High School, Bryan Middle School, Gretna High School and Bellevue West High School among the schools that attended.
Attendees heard from a panel of manufacturing professionals and students led by Women in Manufacturing Chair Hannah Bolte, according to the post. They then toured MCC's welding and metal shop, where MCC welding instructor Ann Krause demonstrated plasma cutting.
Lozier described this year's event as the largest WiM Nebraska Lunch and Learn yet. The company did not give attendance figures.
