Johnson County voters cast ballots today for governor, Congress, county chair and a constitutional amendment

Polling places are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for most elections, the county election office says; two polling places have moved.

OLATHE - Johnson County voters go to the polls today in a general election for U.S. Senate, the 3rd Congressional District, governor and other statewide offices, Kansas House seats and county commission races, according to the Johnson County Election Office.

Election Day polling locations are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for most elections, the office's polling places page says. Voters who used to vote at Church of the Resurrection West now vote at Christ Community Church of the Nazarene, 21385 College Blvd., Olathe, and voters who used to vote at Church of the Resurrection Leawood now vote at Congregation Beth Torah, 6100 W. 127th St., Overland Park.

To see a sample ballot, the office's ballot information page tells voters to look up their voter information on VoterView, which links to the sample ballot. The same lookup shows each voter's polling place.

On the ballot

The nonpartisan county commission chair race lists Karen Crnkovich of Olathe and incumbent Mike Kelly of Prairie Village, the candidate list shows. County commission seats in Districts 1, 4 and 5 are also on the ballot, along with township clerk races in the township areas of Johnson County, including Lexington Township, where the list shows one candidate, Nancy L. Moneymaker of De Soto, a Republican.

Voters also decide judicial retention questions and a constitutional amendment that, in the state's explanatory statement, "would clarify that only a person who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to vote in this state."
