De Soto Planning Commission tables site plans for Digital Realty and Beale data-center buildings
Staff had recommended tabling both until screening, noise and battery-storage details are addressed.
DE SOTO - The De Soto Planning Commission on Oct. 27 tabled site plans for three large data-center buildings, following city staff recommendations, according to the meeting recording and staff reports.
The first plan, Digital Realty's Building #2 for Project JayHawk, is a single-story building of about 998,600 square feet east of Lexington Avenue and north of 103rd Street, with a battery energy storage system, the staff report says. Staff asked that it be tabled until more details on a screen wall and the battery system, among other items, are addressed.
The second, Beale Infrastructure's Phase 2, includes two buildings of nearly 865,000 square feet each along Edgerton Road and 95th Street. The staff report says the nearest home is about 250 feet north of Building #4 and recommends more buffering, including noise measures.
Both tabling motions passed on roll calls with no commissioner voting no, the recording shows (Digital Realty vote, Beale vote). Written minutes have not been posted.
