Hyde Park celebrates opening of Old Ephraim Elementary
The new Cache County School District building opened with a ribbon-cutting, a student song and building tours.
HYDE PARK - Families and neighbors gathered in late October to celebrate the opening of Old Ephraim Elementary School, Cache County School District said in a Nov. 6 news post. The event included speeches, a song by Old Ephraim students, a ribbon-cutting and a guided tour of the building.
Superintendent Todd McKee said schools "are the centers of our community" and that the district looks forward to how the school will serve the neighborhood.
The building was a collaboration of the district, DWA Construction and Naylor Wentworth Lund Architects, according to the post. Jenn Anderson of DWA Construction said crews poured about 5,500 cubic yards of concrete on the site, or roughly 650 concrete trucks.
The school's bear cub mascot also greeted visitors at the event, the district said. The district's post does not give the exact date of the ceremony.
