NIBLEY - Nibley's Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing Thursday, Nov. 12, on a proposal to drop the city's shared or rear-loaded driveway requirements for lots less than 80 feet wide in the Mixed Residential (R-M) zone, according to the meeting agenda.

The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at Nibley City Hall, 455 W. 3200 South. After the hearing, the commission is set to consider a recommendation on the driveway change, Ordinance 26-16.

Commissioners will also consider a recommendation on Ordinance 26-13, which would amend the city's permitted-signs rules, including provisions on political and temporary signs, setbacks and permit requirements. The agenda closes with a workshop on a framework for regulating home businesses.

A full report will be posted on the city's website and the Utah Public Notice Website by Nov. 9, according to the hearing notice. Written comments are due by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, by mail to Nibley City or by email to talonb@nibleycity.gov; people can also comment during the hearing. The meeting can be watched live through the YouTube link on the city's website.

Why this matters

The driveway rule shapes how homes on narrow lots in the R-M zone can be built, and the sign rules cover political and temporary signs residents put up. Anyone who wants a say can send comments by Nov. 11 or speak at the hearing.
