Cache County moves post-election audit to Monday noon
The public can watch the clerk's audit of the Nov. 3 election at the Ballot Processing Center.
LOGAN - The Cache County Clerk will conduct the post-election audit of the Nov. 3 general election at noon Monday, Nov. 9, at the county Ballot Processing Center, 2785 N. Airport Drive, according to a rescheduled-audit notice posted on the Utah Public Notice Website.
The audit replaces one the county had set for 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, which the notice says was canceled. The notice does not give a reason for the cancellation.
The audit is open to public observation, and election watchers will be accommodated under state law, the notice says. It will follow Utah Code 20A-1-108, state administrative rules R623-12-3 and R623-12-4, and the Lieutenant Governor's election audit policy.
Questions and accommodation requests go to the county elections office at 435-755-1460 or elections@cachecounty.gov.
Why this matters
The audit is a check on the count before results become official. Any Cache County resident who wants to see how it works can show up Monday at noon and watch.
