Wednesday night arts: a book club at the art museum and USU jazz combos
Both events on the Utah State campus Nov. 4 are free. The book club asks guests to RSVP.
LOGAN - Two free arts events fill Wednesday evening, Nov. 4, on the Utah State University campus, according to the USU events calendar.
Beyond the Book
The Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art holds Beyond the Book, a quarterly book club led by Camille Mortensen, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., the calendar listing says. Readers finish the book ahead of time, then talk it over alongside art from the museum's collection and comments from guests.
This month's book is "Stitched" by Eli McCann, a story set in Utah about two feuding quilting clubs. The museum's event page lists McCann; Elizabeth Fauth, director of USU's Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Research Center; and Danielle Stewart, the museum's head of academic initiatives and curator, as guest speakers. The event is free, but an RSVP is required through the museum's event page. The contact is Chiara Elwood Sorensen at 435-797-1564.
Jazz Combos
USU student jazz combos, led by university music faculty, play jazz standards and contemporary tunes at 7:30 p.m. in the Russell/Wanlass Performance Hall, according to the calendar listing. The concert is free and open to the public. The box office number is 435-797-8022.
