Youl Sun, piano. The Wassermann Piano Series brings the 2024 Gina Bachauer competition gold medalist to the Russell/Wanlass Performance Hall at USU at 7:30 p.m. USU calendar

Beyond the Book. The Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art's quarterly book club meets 6:30 to 8 p.m. to discuss Eli McCann's Stitched, a novel about rival quilting clubs from Cache Valley and Ogden. RSVP required. USU calendar

Author visit with Beth Brower. Cache Valley's public libraries host the author of the Emma M. Lion books at the Riverwoods Conference Center, 615 Riverwood Pkwy., Logan. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the talk starts at 6 p.m., followed by a book signing. It is free, with seats first come, first served. Logan Library

Why this matters

Several of this week's events cost nothing, including the student jazz concert, Art Bingo, the gallery reception and the Beth Brower talk, so families and students can get out without spending much. Brower's seats go to whoever arrives first, and My Fair Lady has only two weekends.
