Urbana-area boards meet Oct. 19-21 on township rental aid, rights certifications and zoning board attendance

URBANA - Four Urbana-area boards besides the City Council meet Oct. 19-21 at 400 S. Vine St., according to the city's meetings calendar and the posted agendas.

The Cunningham Township Board meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Its agenda lists Resolution T-2026-10-20R, an intergovernmental agreement for rental assistance between the City of Urbana and the township supervisor's office. The agenda gives no amount or term.

The Human Rights Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and is set to discuss and vote on a proposed three-year option for certain certifications. It will also review EEO workforce statistics and introduce a new commissioner; three seats are open. The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday to take up an ordinance and resolution on an MTD representative and hear a Kickapoo Rail Trail update.

The Zoning Board of Appeals meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday on attendance rules. A staff memo proposes that three straight absences, or missing at least half of meetings within 12 months, could be cause for removal, but not automatically. The memo says the City Attorney's review won't be finished by the meeting. A sign variance for 302 N. Broadway Ave. was continued to Nov. 18.
