Suffield school board to weigh 2027-28 capital requests Monday

SUFFIELD - The Suffield Board of Education will consider approving the district's capital project requests for the 2027-28 fiscal year when it meets Monday, Nov. 2, according to the meeting agenda posted by the town and the school district.

The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Suffield High School Media Center and can also be watched on Zoom; the webinar link and call-in number are printed on the agenda.

The capital list itself has not been posted. As of Saturday morning, the district's agenda page carried only the agenda and minutes from the board's Oct. 5 and Oct. 19 meetings, so the projects and their costs are not yet public.

Board members are also scheduled to hear the 2026-27 class size, staffing and enrollment report, a legislative update and the September financial report. Reports are expected from the board's finance and facilities subcommittee, which met Oct. 29, and from its curriculum and community engagement subcommittees.

The agenda opens with recognition of the Suffield Rotary Club and lists a review of the district's social emotional learning program as future business. Residents may speak during two public comment periods, with the first capped at 30 minutes in total.
