East Windsor school board to vote on moving $127,494 surplus into reserve fund
EAST WINDSOR - The East Windsor Board of Education is expected to vote Wednesday, Oct. 28, on moving the district's fiscal 2026 year-end general fund balance of $127,493.61 into its 2% non-lapsing fund, according to the meeting packet posted on the district website.
A memo from Ryan Galloway, director of school finance and business, says the district's auditors advised that a board vote is required. The transfer would bring the fund to $205,066.77 available for the current budget year, up from $77,573.16.
The board is also set to appoint one of its members to the ad hoc committee on the school renovation project, hear an update from that committee and resume its discussion of board goals.
An enrollment report in the packet lists 966 students as of Oct. 1, 2026, down from 980 a year earlier, and 68 students enrolled through the Choice Program, down from 72.
The 7 p.m. meeting is in Room A5 at Broad Brook Elementary School, 14 Rye St., with a Google Meet option. The board's next regular meeting is Nov. 11.
