Santa Clara volleyball beats Seattle at Leavey Center; San José State falls in four at Grand Canyon.
SAN JOSE — Santa Clara County college volleyball was the main card on Thursday, Nov. 5.
Santa Clara women's volleyball beat Seattle 3-1 at Leavey Center to open a home stand, winning 25-21, 23-25, 25-23, 25-20. Cate Shanahan had 20 kills for the fourth straight match with at least 20. Freshman middle blocker Allison Dzieciuch added a season-high 15 kills. The Broncos are 10-14 overall and 6-6 in the West Coast Conference.
San José State women's volleyball fell 1-3 at Grand Canyon in Phoenix in Mountain West play (25-13, 22-25, 25-17, 25-22). Tatiana Robinson led the Spartans with 12 kills. Lolohea Fonua had nine kills and Hanna Darvas added 22 assists.
No finished games were confirmed for the 49ers, Sharks, Earthquakes, Bay FC, Barracuda, San Jose Giants or PWHL San Jose on Nov. 5. Stanford had no varsity result that day.
