SAN JOSE — Santa Clara County's Friday, Nov. 6 card mixed NHL and AHL hockey with Stanford basketball and volleyball.

Macklin Celebrini scored and Yaroslav Askarov stopped 25 shots as the San Jose Sharks lost 1-4 at the Minnesota Wild in St. Paul. The Sharks are 7-10-1 after dropping four straight.

The San Jose Barracuda lost 2-3 to the Bakersfield Condors at Tech CU Arena. San Jose entered the weekend at 5-6-0-0.

Stanford men's basketball improved to 2-0 with an 81-63 win over Oakland at Maples Pavilion. Nick Townsend had 25 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals; Christian Bliss scored 17, and Aidan Cammann added 13.

Stanford women's volleyball fell 2-3 at Miami in ACC play (25-22, 24-26, 20-25, 25-22, 14-16). Julia Blyashov led with 20 kills and 15 digs. The Cardinal are 14-9, 7-6 in the ACC.

No finished games were confirmed for the 49ers, Earthquakes, Bay FC, San Jose Giants, PWHL San Jose, San José State, Santa Clara or area community colleges on Nov. 6.
