Early count: Alum Rock school tax and bond ahead; Cambrian and Orchard parcel taxes short of two-thirds
The results are unofficial. Ballots from about 28% of the county's registered voters had been counted by late Tuesday, and more will be counted in the coming days.
Two money measures for the Alum Rock Union School District in East San Jose are passing in the first count of Tuesday's election, while parcel taxes for the Cambrian and Orchard school districts are short of the two-thirds vote they need, according to unofficial results from the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters.
The results were posted at 11:22 p.m. Tuesday and are not final. Countywide, 306,898 ballots had been counted, 28.4% of the county's 1,080,711 registered voters. Mail ballots postmarked by Election Day count if they arrive by Nov. 10, under state rules. The registrar said its next update would come Wednesday by 5 p.m.
