Palo Alto’s Syncere raises $11 million for LUME robot lamp
a16z Speedrun leads a pre-seed round to manufacture a floor lamp that also does chores.
Syncere, a Palo Alto company building robots for the home, said it raised $11 million in pre-seed funding led by a16z Speedrun, according to its November 2026 newsroom post.
Draper Associates, Physical World, SeaX Ventures, Sequel and others joined, Syncere said. Its first product, LUME, is a floor lamp that can also roll through a house to fold laundry, tidy up and help make the bed—sold first as furniture so households have a reason to bring the robot in before full autonomy is solved.
The company said LUME was named among TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026, won a Fast Company Innovation by Design Award, and has millions of dollars in pre-order demand. It plans to use the money to scale manufacturing, deliver units and improve the robot’s software through real-home experience.
