SAN JOSE — Two women were arrested Oct. 27 and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of murder in an August stabbing death, according to a San Jose Police Department news release. Police say the killing happened at a home on the 700 block of North Seventh Street.
The victim was last seen there Aug. 22, police said. The home did not belong to the victim. On Aug. 25, a driver spotted what looked like a hidden body in a ravine near Tesla and Eagle Run roads, in an unincorporated area outside Livermore. Alameda County sheriff's deputies found the person dead with multiple stab wounds. Officials have not released the victim's name.
Deputies tracked a vehicle that drove from the San Jose home to where the body was found, the release says. San Jose homicide detectives took over the case Oct. 13. One woman was arrested in Los Angeles and brought back to San Jose; the other was arrested in San Jose.
Police said the motive is still under investigation. It is the city's 24th homicide of 2026. Anyone with information can call the homicide unit at 408-277-5283.
