Light rain likely in San Jose on Election Day, mostly from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The National Weather Service gives a 60% chance of rain Tuesday, with the evening, when polls close at 8 p.m., forecast dry.
Light rain is likely in San Jose on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, mostly from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service (NWS) forecast updated Monday at 2:06 a.m. It gives a 60% chance of rain, with less than a tenth of an inch.
The chance peaks at 55% around noon. From 3 p.m. through 8 p.m., when polls close, it falls to 5% to 7%. Tuesday's high is near 67.
What the percentage means: the NWS says it is the chance a given spot gets at least 0.01 inch of rain. So 60% means rain is more likely than not where you are, not rain over 60% of the city or the day.
Polls and vote centers are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and anyone in line at 8 p.m. can still vote, according to the California Secretary of State. See the paper's Election Day guide.
No NWS warnings were in effect as of 6:15 a.m. Monday. Wednesday through Sunday looks sunny. This is a forecast and may change.
