Metro Parks holds Farm Day at Bells Bend Outdoor Center Saturday
Festival includes hayrides, farm demonstrations and a new harvester simulator
NASHVILLE - Metro Parks will hold its Farm Day festival Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bells Bend Outdoor Center, 4187 Old Hickory Blvd., according to the department's event listing opened today.
The listing says the day will include farm animals, hayrides, tractors and farm machinery, music and local vendors, with demonstrations such as blacksmithing and corn shelling. New this year is an AgSimulator in which participants sit in a harvester cab simulator and experience harvesting crops such as corn, cotton and hay through audio-visual simulations, the listing says. The page invites all ages and does not list an admission price or registration requirement.
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast Saturday with a high near 71 and a high chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service. The Farm Day listing does not say whether the schedule will change for weather. Metro Parks lists metroparks@nashville.gov and 615-862-8400.
