NASHVILLE - MEGAMicrobe, a free event exploring the world of microbes for students ages 5 to 15 and their families, runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, according to an Oct. 15 post on VUMC News.

The ninth annual event is hosted by the Vanderbilt Institute for Infection, Immunology and Inflammation. Students can do science experiments and hands-on activities and win prizes, the post says, and parents and teachers are welcome. This year's theme is "Power Up!"

It will be at Tom Joy Elementary School, 2201 Jones Ave. in East Nashville, three blocks north of East Trinity Lane. Details are at vumc.org/viiii/megamicrobe.
