Nashville residents can apply for free Halloween Open Street permits
NASHVILLE - Residents who want to close their street for Halloween can apply for a free Open Streets block party permit, the Nashville Department of Transportation and Walk Bike Nashville said in an Oct. 14 release.
Approved applicants can also borrow signs and cones at no cost, the release says. NDOT issued 41 neighborhood street closures last year.
NDOT's permit page says applicants need signatures from 66% of affected residents, a traffic control plan and a notification letter sent two weeks before the event. The Open Streets page asks residents to request signs and cones at least five business days before pickup. Neither the release nor those pages states a fixed application deadline.
