Ages 15 and up; registration required through the nature center
NASHVILLE - Metro Parks lists an Early Morning Bird Hike for Saturday, Oct. 10, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Shelby Bottoms Nature Center, according to the department's event page opened today.
The listing says the guided hike is for ages 15 and up and that registration is required by calling or emailing the nature center. Binoculars are available to borrow, and all experience levels are welcome, the page says. Registered participants are notified of the meeting location each month.
The Metro Parks calendar still shows the Shelby Bottoms hike as scheduled while marking several other Oct. 10 Warner Park bird and nature programs cancelled. Showers and thunderstorms are forecast Saturday, according to the National Weather Service; the hike listing does not say whether weather will change the plan.
