Nashville Fire and Police hockey teams meet tonight at Bridgestone Arena

Battle of the Badges moves to the arena for the first time, with puck drop at 7 p.m.

NASHVILLE - Hockey teams from the Nashville Fire Department and the Nashville Police Department will face off Monday night at Bridgestone Arena, according to the Nashville Predators. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the puck drops at 7 p.m.

The teams play three 15-minute periods. The Predators say this is the first time the game has been held at the arena, after earlier editions at Ford Ice Centers, and that they plan to make it annual. Gnash, the Preds Energy Team, giveaways and in-game activities are scheduled.

A Nashville Predators Foundation silent auction of police- and fire-themed jerseys bearing Predators players' names opens during the game and closes at the start of the third period of Tuesday's Predators-Vegas game. Fans bid by texting Preds to 76278. Jersey proceeds go to charities chosen by the two departments.

Tickets are still available; a First Responders Night package adds a ticket to Tuesday's 7:45 p.m. game against Vegas and a challenge coin, with part of each sale donated to charities.
