LOGAN - The Logan City School District Board of Education will hear first readings of six policy proposals when it meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, in the library at Adams Elementary, 415 E. 500 North, according to the meeting notice and agenda.

Two are new policies: one on personal protective equipment and one on student activities. The other four are language revisions to policies on required instruction, college coursework, religious neutrality and American heritage. The agenda says policies under review can be read in the district's online policy manual.

Because the meeting is off-site, the district says it will not be broadcast live. The agenda includes public comment, a consent calendar and presentations from Adams principals, students, PTA and school community council. During a break after the consent calendar, board members will hold Community Connections, a set time for conversations with the public. A closed session on an individual's professional competence follows at 6:30 p.m.

Why this matters

First readings are an early chance for Logan parents and residents to weigh in on rules that shape what students are taught and which activities they can join. Those who want to speak can sign up for public comment on the district website or on-site before the meeting, or talk with board members during the break.
