Cedar City moves proposed budget policy to action agenda
CEDAR CITY - A presenter told Cedar City Council on Oct. 21 that staff was presenting a proposed Cedar City budget policy to set a framework for developing, reviewing, adopting and monitoring the annual budget, according to the work-meeting recording.
The presenter called the annual budget one of the city’s most important financial tools. After questions about whether a policy (versus an ordinance) would bind future mayors, a council member moved to put the item on the action agenda. The motion received a second; the chair called for a vote with ayes and no opposition recorded. Staff noted the item includes a resolution and should stay on action rather than consent if edits remain possible.
