Norman switches mobile parking payments to ParkMobile; Flowbird ends Nov. 1
Pay stations still take coins and cards, and text-to-pay remains an option.
NORMAN - Drivers who pay for city parking in Norman with a mobile app will need ParkMobile starting Sunday, Nov. 1, according to an Oct. 27 city news release. The city is moving mobile payments at city-operated facilities and spaces from Flowbird to ParkMobile, and Flowbird will no longer work for city parking as of Nov. 1, the release says.
Anyone who used Flowbird in Norman in the past six months will get a notice about the change, according to the city. Crews are updating pay station decals, putting up new ParkMobile signs and handing informational cards to drivers. The city encourages parkers to download ParkMobile before Nov. 1.
Paying at a pay station with coins or a card still works, as does paying by text, the release says. The city's parking page lists texting "PARK" to 77223 as the text-to-pay option.
