Moore voters to decide sales tax renewal and $18 million drainage bonds Nov. 3

The city holds town halls on the two propositions starting Thursday.

MOORE - Moore voters will decide two city propositions Nov. 3: renewing a half-cent sales tax and issuing $18 million in general obligation bonds for drainage improvements, according to the city's election page.

The sales tax, set to expire March 31, 2027, would be extended four years starting April 1, 2027, under the ballot language. The city says 70% would go to residential street repair, 20% to fire, police and emergency management equipment and 10% to public safety operations. The city says the renewal would keep the total sales tax rate at 8.5%.

The city says the bonds would not push its share of the property tax millage above the current cap of 16.5 mills.

Town halls are at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Moore Police Advancement Center, 1311 N. Janeway Ave.; Oct. 26 at The Station Recreation Center, 700 S. Broadway; and Oct. 27 at the Moore Community Center, 301 S. Howard Ave.
