Chabad center hosts talk tonight on the Hebrew Bible and America's founding

CHAMPAIGN - The Chabad Center for Jewish Life will host a talk Thursday evening on how the Hebrew Bible shaped the thinking of America's founders, according to the Champaign-Urbana Jewish Federation's community calendar. The event, titled "America at 250: The Hebrew Bible and the Founding," runs from 6 to 7 p.m. at the center, 209 E. Armory Ave., Champaign.

The calendar listing says Professor Richard J. Ross will speak about how the founders drew on the Hebrew Bible to understand and legitimize their political and constitutional programs.

The listing asks attendees to RSVP through a link on the federation's event page.

The Chabad Center for Jewish Life is one of several Jewish organizations listed in the federation's community directory; the federation's calendar also carries events from Sinai Temple and Illini Hillel.
