Jewish Federation lists Kristallnacht commemoration Nov. 10 at Cohen Center
CHAMPAIGN - A Kristallnacht commemoration is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the Margie K. and Louis N. Cohen Center for Jewish Life (Illini Hillel), 503 E. John St., according to the Champaign-Urbana Jewish Federation's community calendar.
Students will share stories of Holocaust rescuers, resisters and liberators during the communal remembrance of Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass, the listing says. Dinner will be provided. The listing does not say whether the event is open to the public or whether an RSVP is needed.
Later in the month, Professor and Rabbi Hadar Aviram will speak about her Jewish journey in a talk titled "From Law Professor to Rabbi: My Jewish Journey," 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the same location. The federation asks attendees to RSVP for that talk.
The federation can be reached at 217-367-9872.
