First Christian Church collects new coats for Unit 4 students Nov. 1-29

CHAMPAIGN - First Christian Church is running a coat drive for Champaign Unit 4 students from Nov. 1 through Nov. 29, according to the church's events page, which says the church is partnering with Unit 4 Schools to provide coats for children with identified needs.

Starting in November, people can pick up a tag for a specific child on Sunday mornings at the church's Next Steps Lounge or Playground entrance, buy a new coat with the store tags still attached and return the child's tag with the coat, the church says. School social workers will deliver the coats directly to the students.

The church also accepts money online and says it will use those donations to buy coats for any remaining needs. First Christian Church is at 3601 S. Staley Road in Champaign.
