Champaign County Humane Society's Fur Ball auction closes Friday night; online bidders welcome
A Key West condo raffle winner will be drawn at the event; entrants don't need to attend.
CHAMPAIGN - The Champaign County Humane Society holds its annual Fur Ball fundraiser Friday, Oct. 9, at the I Hotel and Illinois Conference Center, with the cocktail hour beginning at 5:30 p.m., according to the organization.
Supporters who aren't attending can register as at-home bidders in the auction, which closes at 8:30 p.m. Friday. The society is also raffling a five-night stay for up to 10 people in a Key West condo, at $100 per entry with 100 tickets available; the winner will be drawn at the Fur Ball, and entrants don't need to be there to win.
The society says it is an independent nonprofit that receives no government funding and is not part of a larger animal welfare organization.
