Habitat's Raise the Woof pet-house build returns Saturday at the ReStore

Teams build indoor dog houses that double as furniture to raise money for affordable housing.

CHAMPAIGN - Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County holds Raise the Woof!, a competitive pet-house building event, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Champaign County ReStore, 1914 Glenn Park Drive, according to the organization.

This year's theme, Bark with Me!, asks teams to build an indoor dog house that also works as furniture. Team registration is $200. Last year 18 teams took part and raised more than $25,000 for affordable housing in Champaign County, Habitat says.

Teams listed this year include the Champaign Park District, First Mid Bank & Trust and the UHS Habitat Club. For details, call 217-359-0507.
