Disney Accelerator Demo Day pairs FieldAI and Physical Intelligence with park robotics tests
FieldAI is exploring parking robots and character navigation; Physical Intelligence is testing robot help sorting 3D glasses backstage.
The Walt Disney Company said its 2026 Accelerator Demo Day on Tuesday featured robotics work with FieldAI and Physical Intelligence, among three other startups.
FieldAI builds general-purpose robot software that helps machines navigate messy, changing places. Disney said the company is exploring parking operations in uneven terrain and weather with Disney Experiences Technology and Walt Disney Imagineering research, and how that awareness might shape future character robots in parks.
Physical Intelligence, often shortened to Pi, builds robot learning models for many tasks. With Imagineering, it is testing whether those models can sort and arrange 3D glasses for cleaning between shows — repetitive backstage work that frees Cast Members for guest-facing jobs.
The four-month cohort also included Promise, OpenArt and Simile. Disney framed the collaborations as experiments, not product launches.
