Dialpad and Ada combining to build agentic customer-experience platform
Walker will lead the combined company; Ada, founded in 2016 in Toronto, has raised about $190 million.
SAN FRANCISCO - Dialpad and Ada said in a news release Wednesday they are combining into one company to build what they call an agentic operating system for customer work — software that lets AI agents and people finish customer tasks together, not just answer questions. Dialpad Co-Founder and CEO Craig Walker will lead the combined company as CEO; Ada CEO Mike Murchison will be chief AI officer. The Dialpad release does not name a buyer and does not disclose financial terms or any layoffs. The companies expect the deal to close on or about Nov. 12, 2026.
Ada was founded in 2016 by Mike Murchison and David Hariri and is based in Toronto, according to a University of Toronto Entrepreneurship profile that also says Ada has raised about $190 million. Dialpad, an AI customer-experience company, said its speech models have analyzed more than 14 billion minutes of business calls since 2018. Ada has more than 500 AI agents in production across messaging, email, voice and social in more than 130 languages, the Dialpad release said. Customers keep their current contracts and support.
