UDOT schedules 1600 North paving prep to start today; side-street closures run through Nov. 21
OREM - Crews are scheduled to begin preparing the south side of 1600 North for paving today, Nov. 4, and rolling, intermittent closures at side streets continue through Saturday, Nov. 21, according to the Utah Department of Transportation's project page. The page lists closures at intersections including 1100 West, 1040 West, 950 West, 800 West, 740 West and 650 West, with flaggers at each entrance from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
The page also says overnight utility work along 1600 North between 1200 West and 650 West is extended through Friday, Nov. 6, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night. UDOT says to expect nighttime construction noise and vibrations and construction vehicles entering and leaving the work zone. No parking is allowed along 1600 North within the work zone.
Paving is expected to begin in mid-November, and UDOT says more information will come as schedules are finalized. The page says schedules are subject to change. The project hotline is 801-406-7707, and the email is 1600North@utah.gov.
