UVU women's soccer blanks Long Beach State 2-0 at UCCU Stadium
Nixan Jackson and Sadie Beardall scored as Utah Valley stayed unbeaten in conference play.
OREM - Utah Valley University's women's soccer team beat Long Beach State 2-0 on Wednesday night at UCCU Stadium, according to the official box score posted by UVU Athletics.
Nixan Jackson put the Wolverines ahead in the 35th minute, finishing a pass from Addie Olson. Sadie Beardall added the second goal at 82:45, assisted by Quinn Rustand, the box score shows.
Utah Valley outshot Long Beach State 15-9, with nine shots on goal to the visitors' five. Rustand led all players with four shots on goal. Goalkeeper Madeleine Boucher made five saves in 90 minutes for the shutout. The Wolverines also held a 6-2 edge in corner kicks. Attendance was 1,384.
The win moves Utah Valley to 12-4-3 overall and 8-0-2 in conference play, while Long Beach State falls to 9-5-5 and 3-4-3, according to the box score.
Utah Valley plays next on Saturday, Oct. 31, at CSUN in Northridge, California, according to the team's official schedule.
