Orem's Mending Shed, a repair shop since 1971, adds local artists and vendors

OREM - The Mending Shed, an Orem repair shop, has brought in local artists and vendors and is "expanding into other areas," its owner says in a short City of Orem video posted Oct. 24 as part of the city's Small Business Saturday series.

In the video, Holly Holcomb introduces herself as the shop's owner and says the business has been in Orem since 1971, when her father started it. She says the shop still does repairs and specializes in KitchenAid mixers, lamps and lighting.

Holcomb says the shop also carries home canning supplies and tests pressure-canner gauges. The video does not say when the shop began carrying work from local artists and vendors.
