Driver wounded in road rage-related shooting in South Nashville; no charges for now, MNPD says

NASHVILLE - No charges have been filed for now after a road rage-related shooting Wednesday night in South Nashville, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said. According to the MNPD release, a 63-year-old man called 911 just before 7 p.m. to say he had fired at another driver who was chasing him in a white pickup truck.

Soon after, the 37-year-old driver of the truck called 911 to report he had been wounded in the face, police said.

The 63-year-old told detectives the truck driver honked, flashed his lights and told him to pull over after he turned onto Nolensville Pike, then followed him and struck his vehicle as he turned into a parking lot nearby. He said he fired two shots out of fear. The truck driver first denied the vehicles collided but acknowledged it after being told video was under review, according to police.

The case will be reviewed with the District Attorney's Office to decide on any charges.
