Dozens of pets available for adoption at Metro Animal Care and Control

NASHVILLE - Metro Animal Care and Control says it has animals available for adoption every day, and "dozens" of pets are available at its shelter at any given time, according to the department's adoption page opened Oct. 10, 2026.

Adoption fees are $90 for dogs, $40 for cats and $60 for kittens. The department says fees include spay/neuter, microchip, rabies license, initial core vaccines and parasite treatments. Adopters complete an application and a counseling session and meet the animal; the department suggests setting aside several hours.

Current animals are listed on 24 Pet Connect (search zip code 37211). Pets in foster care and in the department's Home to Home re-homing program are listed separately; Home to Home animals are not at the shelter.
