Council raises CB Fox jobs bar to 25, brings aid ordinance back Nov. 17
Council also voted 6-1 to ask the governor to send NMED to chromium plume cleanup meetings and backed the Fix Our Forests Act.
LOS ALAMOS - The Los Alamos County Council voted 7-0 on Oct. 27 to amend Ordinance No. 761, economic development support for 1735 Central Investment LLC's CB Fox project, and bring it back Nov. 17, according to the meeting video.
The changes raise the jobs requirement from six to 25 full-time equivalents and move a Dec. 31, 2028, date to June 30, 2029. The ordinance is not yet adopted.
Council voted 6-1 to ask Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham to direct the New Mexico Environment Department to attend meetings on the chromium plume cleanup. Councilor David Reagor, voting no, said the council should see the letter's text first.
It unanimously supported the Fix Our Forests Act, granted 7-0 a conflict-of-interest waiver for a juvenile SMART Recovery contract of up to $76,624.62 with Strong in Nature, and appointed Jennifer Armstrong to the Art in Public Places Board. The consent agenda, including a $460,000 Two Mile Canyon waterline repair, passed 7-0.
In public comment, several speakers backed a North Mesa Park bike park but asked the council to move it off open space east of North Mesa Park Road, citing its grassland and walking loop; some said neighbors weren't told of planning meetings.
