Trick-or-Treat on MainStreet anchors Halloweekend, Oct. 30-Nov. 1
LOS ALAMOS - Central Avenue closes to vehicles from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, for Trick-or-Treat on MainStreet, the centerpiece of a Halloweekend schedule that runs through Sunday, Nov. 1, according to Los Alamos MainStreet's event listing.
At the same time, the Bradbury Science Museum holds its free High-Tech Halloween, with science stations and a robotic claw handing out candy, according to a laboratory release. MainStreet asks visitors to park in the museum's back lot because of a treat trail out front.
The Pajarito Environmental Education Center's free PEEC-A-BOO also runs 4 to 6 p.m. at the Los Alamos Nature Center, 2600 Canyon Road, followed by the "Aliens!" planetarium show at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for children and $20 for families.
On Saturday, Oct. 31, White Rock Baptist Church holds its 19th annual Trunk or Treat from 5 to 8 p.m., and the Bradbury hosts its first adults-only Brad-buried Halloween Bash from 7 to 11 p.m., with admission by donation. Voting in the Los Alamos Arts Council's 25th annual Scarecrow Contest closes at 1 p.m. that day.
The National Weather Service forecasts a chance of showers and thunderstorms Friday afternoon and night.
