Council sets Dec. 3 special session on police license plate readers
Councilors may act on recommended changes to the policy for the county's automated license plate reader system.
LOS ALAMOS - Los Alamos County Council will hold a special session Thursday, Dec. 3, to take another look at the police department's automated license plate reader system, according to a county news release published Oct. 26.
Council may act on recommended changes to the system's policy that are based on community feedback, the release says. The county describes the goal as letting police use the technology while protecting individual rights.
The session starts at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 1000 Central Ave., and is open to the public.
Residents can read the current policy, information about the system and public comments from earlier rounds of feedback on the county's license plate reader page. Questions about the meeting go to county public information officer Dave Krueger at 505-709-8659.
