Central Avenue narrows to one lane at 9th Street for manhole repair starting Monday
A separate utility bore at 9th Street and Trinity Drive closes a sidewalk and shifts eastbound lanes Oct. 26-29.
LOS ALAMOS - Drivers on Central Avenue near 9th Street should expect one-lane traffic on workdays starting Monday, Oct. 26, while Dub-L-EE Construction crews repair a damaged storm drain manhole, Los Alamos County said in a release.
The work, scheduled to take about two weeks if weather allows, replaces the top of the concrete structure and the manhole lid near the southwest corner of the intersection. From about 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., flaggers will direct traffic in both directions and in and out of 9th Street. All lanes reopen at the end of each workday.
The county says access to the Municipal Building stays open, early voting is not expected to be affected, and the work won't interfere with Trick or Treat on MainStreet on Oct. 30.
Nearby, a Cablecom underground bore at 9th Street and Trinity Drive is scheduled Oct. 26-29, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., closing the sidewalk on the south side of Trinity and shifting eastbound Trinity lanes, according to the county's construction page.
